North Canterbury is home to some of NZ’s most progressive & successful farmers, and renowned for its productivity, both on the hills & the flats. Our dairy herds top the national performance metrics, from the highest production to the lowest somatic cell counts. Sheep, beef & deer raised here are sought-after nationwide.  

Our clinical team is second to none, and includes Alistair Keynon who spent four years teaching dairy production medicine at UC Davis, California; holds a Masters of Preventative Veterinary Medicine with special interests in epidemiology & public health; and is an ABVP Diplomate in Dairy Practice. Trish McIntosh is a well-known farm system consultant with Headlands (formerly Intellact), with a strong focus on nutrition and profitable farming systems. Ian Page has worked closely on medicine and production with NZ’s deer industry at local and national level for many years, and is also recognised for his sheep/beef expertise. Kate Anderson has a wealth of clinical and surgical experience with small animals, especially working dogs. 

Our total team of 50 is spread across have four modern, well-equipped clinics throughout North Canterbury. Two of these – Culverden and Amberley – have sterile surgical suites for everything from advanced soft tissue surgery to major orthopaedic repairs. Equine facilities are at Amberley.
