Veterinarian Mixed Practice

If you fancy a 2-minute commute to work, lunch on the beach and an abundance of outdoor activities we have an opportunity for you in the beautiful coastal town of Kaikoura! Kaikoura is an easy place to become part of the community and offers a relaxed lifestyle with everything you need and easy access to the bigger neighbouring centres and the great outdoors.

Vetcare Kaikoura is one of the few family owned and operated practices in the country. We are a loyal, compassionate and dedicated team who welcome a new Vet to join us. Here you can make your mark, develop your skills and be well rewarded for your efforts, with potential for partnership in the future.

As the only clinic in Kaikoura we service a mix of sheep, beef, deer, dairy and companion animals. We pride ourselves on providing a high-quality personal service to all and we use a helicopter to access our remote station clients, which makes for some fun days out! We know all our clients and their families well and deal directly with farm owners which we think makes work rewarding and efficient. As a part of The Vet Company, a cooperative group of practices in the upper South Island, we have a great relationship with the surrounding practices which makes for easy professional support, collegial discussion and continuing education.

Working alongside the two practice principals you will have the ability to develop skills in which ever direction appeals most, undertake lots of continuing education and importantly your roster can be tailored to suit your work- life balance. The role could involve solely companion animal or mixed practice work depending on applicant’s preference.

We welcome expressions of interest from Veterinarians of all levels of experience, providing you have a degree currently registerable with the New Zealand Vet Council and are available soon. We would also be keen to hear from locums for short term work – and if you like it you can stay!

Check out our website www.vetcarekaikoura.co.nz and our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Vetcarekaikoura/. Also feel free to call Rebecca on 021556480 anytime to discuss this opportunity further.
