North Canterbury Vets is a 4 clinic veterinary business located north of Christchurch. 

So if you are looking for the best of both worlds with rural and city life, adventure tourism on the doorstep, then this is a perfect location.

We welcome applications from veterinarians with an interest in working in mixed practice with a strong emphasis in Dairy to apply for one of our current vacancies based in Culverden. We do have further opportunities to provide support to our other 3 Clinics.  NCVC currently has a team of 20 Vets, 6 LA Technicians, 3 Animal Health Sales Reps and an ever growing team with Clinical Support. The role offers great prospects for those wishing to further develop their skills.  

While this role covers predominantly Dairy, there is ample opportunity (if interested) to focus on Sheep & Beef, CA, Deer, and Equine etc.  

 

What we are looking for in a candidate:-

• Ideally 2 years Dairy experience

• Drive to succeed 

• Passion for providing innovative health solutions for NZ farming systems

• Strong interest in either lameness, reproduction, mastitis or nutrition

• Excellent communication skills

• Be a Team Player who is prepared to have fun while getting the job done

Mixed Practice Veterinarian


 

Mixed Practice Veterinarian – strong focus with sheep and beef

 

North Canterbury Veterinary Clinics is an independently owned business with 4 clinics located within the Hurunui Region.  

Our 5 Directors all work in the business on a daily basis, and we are also part of the Vet Company, which affords us access to further learning and development opportunities.

We currently have 20 Vets who work closely with our supportive team which includes, nurses, large animal technicians, animal health reps and clinical support teams.

A full time position is now available based in our Amberley Clinic, which focuses on supporting our forward thinking and progressive S&B clients, Bull Testing, Deer Velvetting, a small amount of equine work, & option to support our CA Team in emergency situations.

 

We’re looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ veterinary experience

• Excellent organisational & communication skills

• A good team player

• Interest in parasitology, reproduction, proactive animal health plans

Qualified Vet Nurse

A full time position has become available in our Culverden Clinic for a qualified vet nurse.

 

Our clinic is modern and the core CA Team of 3 work closely together to provide quality care on a day to day basis. The team are supported further by our Culverden mixed vets, who also have an interest in companion animal care, along with the wider team of nurses.

The role covers a wide range of nursing duties, and our cases are varied and interesting, as we deal with companion animals and working dogs.  

 

The days of work are Monday to Friday in Culverden but no emergency after hours, however, you would be required to join the weekend clinic roster in Amberley which is approx. 1:7.  Following this shift, you will receive 2 days off in the following week.

 

We have a strong focus on professional development, and will provide the funding and opportunities to grow your technical skills.

Full Time Vet Nurse

 

 

Veterinary Nurse in Sunny Nelson!

 

We are mixed animal practice looking for an enthusiastic qualified small animal Veterinary Nurse to join our team. This is a full time, fixed term, maternity leave cover position with potential to extend beyond the fixed term.

We are proud of our nurses’ abilities to tackle a wide range of procedures including: -nurse consults, placing almost all our IV catheters, blood collection, taking x-rays, bandaging, epidurals.

 

We have a great support and training network with regular CPD meetings for nurses and love teaching new skills.

 

Living in Nelson we value a work/life balance and have lots of our crew working four days a week.
