Emergency and Critical Care Companion Animal Veterinarian

 

Rangiora, North Canterbury

 

This is an exciting position in our Emergency Veterinary Hospital where you will be doing emergency and critical care work.

We run a busy hospital with a resident surgeon as well as a referral after-hours facility.

Roster can be tailored to the successful applicant, anywhere up to 3 after-hour shifts per week with rostered hours of between 8 – 11 hours per shift.

You will be well supported by the day staff who end their shift at 7:00 pm, as well as a dedicated emergency and critical care vet nurse team, who will care for the patients through the night.

You may have a post-graduate qualification in veterinary medicine or emergency and critical care or are just very passionate about this type of work. If you thrive on having a busy and interesting medical case load and enjoy working with great clients and other passionate vets then this could be the job for you. Surgical experience will be an advantage.

What we can offer

Based in our Rangiora clinic which is a Best Practice accredited Hospital with a full in-house IDEXX diagnostic suite, digital radiography, endoscopy, videotoscopy and ultrasound.  We now have a brand-new CT scanner on-site and access to an MRI scanner.

You will be well supported by 16 other CA vets and a well trained and experienced veterinary nursing team. Many of our vets and nurses have advanced qualifications in analgesia, anaesthesia, dermatology, surgery, ophthalmology, and dentistry.

We encourage our team to follow their passions and offer a generous support package for CPD.  

We offer several health and wellbeing initiatives, including a budget for you to spend towards your own wellbeing, in addition, we provide access to regular seminars from external providers, and subsidised in-house health and wellbeing initiatives, we have a dedicated well-being committee.

The job is mixed but case load can be tailored to suit. We know how important work-life balance is too so hours can be negotiated to suit as well.
